Sonny Rollins was a fan of early 20th century popular music and “Valse Hot” is a direct result of that. He sometimes liked to quote from old musicals and songs while improvising. “Valse Hot” is harmonically straightforward and shouldn’t pose a tremendous challenge to learn.
