Even though Miles only recorded it once many other players have added “Solar” to their repertoire and it’s an absolute must learn for any jam session or gig. It’s based on the 12-bar blues form but sounds more bebop than blues because of how it switches between major and minor. “Solar” is the perfect tune to jam along to nail down form and ii-V’s.
