Have You Met Miss Jones

[Hart L. Hart Lorenz Hart R. Rodgers Richard Rodgers Rodgers]

A fun overall tune to play, “Have You Met Miss Jones” was originally written in 1937 for Broadway and started gaining jazz cred when George Shearing, Charles Mingus, Tal Farlow, and Stan Getz starting playing it. The bridge, of course, is said to be the inspiration for John Coltrane’s “Giant Steps” which uses ii-V-I’s that modulate down a major third every other bar. Enjoy playing along with the brisk gypsy swing version here.
