“All the Things You Are” is one of THE definitive jazz standards. This is not so much for the melody or changes, but because the song lends itself to playing and making it your own. You can treat it as an exercise or a vehicle for free improvisation. Ironically, Jerome Kern took issues with jazz musicians taking liberties with his songs. Two things to be aware of are the 36-bar form and the modulation down a minor third on the bridge. Enjoy playing through it here at a brisk 260BPM!
